Om
DJ Grass
One of Stockholm's happiest DJs with 27 years on his CV.
Grass started as a Hip Hop DJ but over the years, as an avid record collector, has moved through everything from soul, funk, house, boogie, jazz, pysch, Latin, disco, etc.
He helped run the hip-hop club Peez in the early 1990s and brought artists like Action Bronson, Smif N Wessun and Nice & Smooth there.
Grass has also been frequently hired by various concert promoters and has opened for, among others, MF DOOM, Ice CUbe, DJ Shadow, GZA, EPMD, Digable Planets, Evidence, Nas, Common, De La Soul and Masta Ace.
Berns, Tranan, Lydmar, Grodan, Mosebacke, Slakthuset, Fasching, Rosettas, Afrika, Debaser, Brillo, Årstabo and not least his 12-year residency with Plattsudd at Judit & Bertil are just a few of
The venues have DJ Grass in their backs and he continues to play frequently at the city's bars and clubs and always creates a great atmosphere.
Funniest gig? There are so many, but opening for MF DOOM at a sold-out Hornstulls Strand was a dream come true. It was also an honor to be approved by DJ Shadow. He wanted to
had samples of ten songs Grass would play in his set before he agreed to have Grass as a warm-up.
om
Robin i Rörelse
Meet a true vinyl veteran, a DJ whose musical journey began in his teens and has taken him from the world of hip-hop to a universe of sound. With the turntable as his companion since he was around 17-18 years old, he has always been a faithful visitor to Stockholm's record stores, where most of his salary went to buying 12-inch vinyls.
The base has always been hip-hop, but it was in the mid-00s that he really made his mark with the club Folk i Rörelse, which he ran together with DJ Gekko on Nalen. There, the dance floor was also filled with reggae and artists like Syster Sol and Danjah.
Over the years, his musical tastes have expanded to include funk and countless other genres, which has inspired both his music consumption and creation. In recent years, he has been playing around at bars and house parties, but no matter the venue, there is nothing that beats the feeling of making people move to the music.
