Om eventet

Spring is in the air and the days are longer and brighter. As if that weren't enough, the biggest Hip Hop drop of the year so far is approaching this weekend at Djungel & Jazz. The drop consists of hundreds of original pressings LP and 12” purchased in the 80s and 90s with a focus on Hip Hop from the American East Coast.

On Friday at 12:00 we will drop all LP's released between the years 1987-1996 both in the store and online.

On Saturday at 12:00 we will be exhibiting just over 300 12"s that will only be available in the store until 6:00 PM when we will make the remaining 12"s available online.

Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang, Nas, The Roots, Jazzmatazz, Non Phixion, OC, Artifacts, Finsta Bundy, Erick Sermon, Redman, Keith Murray, Public Enemy, AZ, Kool G Rap, Souls Of Mischief, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Goodie Mob, Eminem, Thug Life etc. are just a selection of everything that will be on the slopes on Saturday.

If you are even the slightest bit interested in Hip Hop music on vinyl, you don't want to miss this!

DJ Grass and Robin in Motion will play selected records from the collection throughout the event, which can be purchased directly from the DJ booth.

There will also be a Hip Hop exhibition in the form of collected flyers, stickers, posters and photos.

Om

DJ Grass

One of Stockholm's happiest DJs with 27 years on his CV.

Grass started as a Hip Hop DJ but over the years, as an avid record collector, has moved through everything from soul, funk, house, boogie, jazz, pysch, Latin, disco, etc.
He helped run the hip-hop club Peez in the early 1990s and brought artists like Action Bronson, Smif N Wessun and Nice & Smooth there.

Grass has also been frequently hired by various concert promoters and has opened for, among others, MF DOOM, Ice CUbe, DJ Shadow, GZA, EPMD, Digable Planets, Evidence, Nas, Common, De La Soul and Masta Ace.

Berns, Tranan, Lydmar, Grodan, Mosebacke, Slakthuset, Fasching, Rosettas, Afrika, Debaser, Brillo, Årstabo and not least his 12-year residency with Plattsudd at Judit & Bertil are just a few of
The venues have DJ Grass in their backs and he continues to play frequently at the city's bars and clubs and always creates a great atmosphere.

Funniest gig? There are so many, but opening for MF DOOM at a sold-out Hornstulls Strand was a dream come true. It was also an honor to be approved by DJ Shadow. He wanted to
had samples of ten songs Grass would play in his set before he agreed to have Grass as a warm-up.
